Here I enjoyed one of my Christmas gifts off Karen.  An afternoon Rally driving!  Now I have done it once she knows I am going to want to do it again.  It was a buzz and here are some pictures of the day.

There were 3 cars I would get to play with

* Vauxhall Astra 2 litre 16 valve front wheel drive

* Rouse Sport Ford Sierra Cosworth rear wheel drive

* Mitsubishi EVO 5 Tommi Makinen four wheel drive

It was on a gravel rally course and it rained so it would be interesting

Here I am, lid on and ready to play...

Feedback on this Astra was that it was going to be a cool car to drive rally experience wise but it broke in 2nd gear and I only managed 1 lap before it died - no I didn't kill it honest!

This Cosworth was just a bag of power.  Managed to spin it 4 times.  All the instructor kept saying was "foot to the boards"!  Totally crazy, hard to control but a laugh.

Best car of the day for me was the EVO 5.  A nice 4 wheel drive, loads of power and controllable.

After the driving experience I got a white knuckle ride from one of the instructors to show me how it should be done.  I was taken round in the EVO 5 and the guy knew how to handle his car. I am so glad I was harnessed in properly!
