Just woke up and having a stretch - January 2006

We were looking for just 1 kitten to add to the feline family and had decided it would have to be female so that the boys wouldn't feel threatened.  It would also be company for Willow having another female cat around , we knew she missed Amber and we knew Willow would probably end up "mothering" a kitten too.

It is true what they say whenever you visit an animal rescue centre, the animals pick you.  We had a good look round and saw this little blue/cream dilute girl who we fell in love with and we saw a tortoise shell girl too who was adorable.  They were sisters and had to go together!  The idea of having 5 cats was totally out of the question for Dave, he kept saying to me that "we've only come for one".

We looked round at all the other cats and kittens but these 2 were special and wouldn't leave us alone, they were so affectionate.  Used to playing with other cats big and small, we knew they would fit into our feline family well.  So that was it, we took them both.

We just adore this picture, taken September 2003

Gabrielle is so incredibly vocal, she will call for her sister and even does little tribbles at us for attention.  She is getting on really well with Jasper, who follows her everywhere.  She is very playful.  also mischievious hence the nickname "Minx".  House plants she loves, computer wires she adores, feet she thinks are fun, she is into everything.

From such a young age she was so intelligent, she will watch and learn from the other cats.  She loves to be cuddled and will sit at your feet and cry until you pick her up.  Gabrielle is such an unusual colouring, it will be interesting to see how her colour develops as she gets older.

The two kittens settled into the home really well and weren't bothered at all by the other cats.  It was the older cats who must have thought "Uh oh trouble has arrived"
