Bath 2008

September saw us celebrate our 12th wedding Anniversary.  As we love our city trips/breaks we decided to go to somewhere in this country we had often talked about going to but never got round to it.  The city of Bath it was to be.  We love to do sightseeing walks but we also wanted something romantic and relaxing as well.  this was the perfect break away.

Dave booked a beautiful room at the Paradise House Hotel.  You can see him waving from our room at the top balcony window.

Bath Paradise House

A truly beautiful and romantic place set in wonderful grounds with amazing views over the city.  we had a clear view of the Abbey and the Crescent from our room.  The little touches in this hotel were amazing and we couldn't have stayed anywhere better and we'll definitely be going back.

Our room, number 5.  A big room with double door opening into our bathroom with a feature roll top bath - big enough for 2!!!!!!!

The magnificent Crescent and Abbey as seen from our hotel room

The fashion museum and assembly rooms

One of the magnificent chandeliers hung in the assembly rooms.  The chandeliers were made for the building in 1771 and are one of the finest sets believed to have survived from the 18th century.  Really magnificent.

The Abbey.  Really beautiful inside.  The coloured stone was lovely and looked warm when bathed in the sunlight.
